Military caregivers are the unsung heroes of our Veteran community.
What is a military caregiver?
By definition, a military caregiver is someone who takes on the responsibility of caring for any wounded, ill, and injured military personnel and Veterans. According to one report, there are an estimated 5.5 million military caregivers in the United States. Of these, 1.1 million (19.6 percent) are caring for post-9/11 Veterans.
March is officially “Military Caregivers Month,” but we know that caregivers work tirelessly every day of the year, sacrificing incredible amounts of money, time, and energy to do so.
To the Caregivers Who Support Our Veterans—
We cannot express our gratitude and admiration enough.
You did not ask to be a caregiver. Rather, you found yourself here because someone you love risked his or her life for the safety of our country.
For that, we would like to take a moment to say a sincere, wholehearted, “Thank you.”
Your time and attention deserve recognition. You have made tremendous sacrifices for the sake of your loved one. Some of you have relocated to reside closer to medical facilities. Many have quit jobs or put their dreams and careers on hold. Financially, emotionally, and often physically, you have supported your children, spouses, parents, and relatives to the best of your ability.
We know that, although you have invested tremendous time and energy into caring for your loved one, your efforts often go unseen and unnoticed.
We see the humility and love that drives your work, and we admire it more than we could possibly express.
Best,
The Endeavors® Family
