Here are a few reasons our Veterans make incredible employees and why we’re so thankful for them.
Serving vulnerable people in crisis is our mission and serving Veterans and their families is a huge part of that mission. Like others we serve, it’s our joy to see military men, women, and children experience happier, healthier, more fulfilling lives.
Why?
Because we are unbelievably thankful for the sacrifices of military families.
Because we are inspired by their spirit of duty and loyalty.
Because we know that they keep our wonderful country safe.
Because so many of us are also Veterans.
Veterans are not just a population we work with. Former military members make up a huge part of our staff and leadership team here at Endeavors—not just in our staff, but also our leadership. From our CEO and Board of Directors to our hardworking sanitation and landscaping staff at Endeavors Unlimited, Veterans are woven into the fabric of our organization.
Here are a few reasons our Veterans make incredible employees and why we’re so thankful for them.
Firsthand knowledge of Veteran needs
As we work to help make Veterans’ lives happier, healthier, and safer, we are blessed by our Veteran staff’s firsthand knowledge and understanding about Veteran life and needs. From the Marine Corps to Army to Air Force, Navy, and beyond, our staff makes up a wealth of knowledge when it comes to life beyond the various military branches. This is an invaluable part of tailoring our services to meet the actual needs of the populations we serve.
Incredible work ethic
If there’s one thing we’ve noticed about people with military service experience, it’s this: you have an unrivaled work ethic. The way you show up, day after day, putting your heart and soul into your work, is incredible and inspiring. You don’t just do a job for a paycheck—it is a passionate labor of love. When it comes to social services, you do it because you care. And that makes a difference.
Servant-hearted leadership
At Endeavors, the model our leadership strives to follow is servant leadership, which is inspired in large part by military culture.
“Servant leadership means taking a step back every day and trying to ask, ‘How can I add value and how can I make a difference?’” said Chip Fulghum, Endeavors COO. “If we treat each other the way we aspire to treat our clients, we’ll change the culture in our organization.”
Our Veteran employees are our family
To all of our Veteran employees and staff, we want to say: Thank you. We are inspired by you daily, and you remind us why we do what we do.
Your hard work and sacrifice do not go unnoticed. You bring something entirely unique to our table, and we don’t know what we’d do without you. Everyone at Endeavors is so unbelievably lucky to be able to work with you.
To all the other Veterans across the globe— we also thank you for your service. May Veterans Day 2022 bless you in unparalleled ways. We are so thankful.
