HOUSTON RAPID REHOUSING

Houston Rapid Rehousing Office

The Houston Rapid Rehousing Team provides a caring, stable, and healthy environment for individuals and families experiencing homelessness. Through intensive case management, our participants receive housing and support in order to sustain a safe living environment. Our team encourages housing stability by providing needed support in the areas of behavioral health, referrals to community resources, and basic needs assistance and takes pride in building a foundation for success.

In the Houston region, 50% of homelessness is caused by an economic crisis (job loss, bills become higher than earnings), debunking common stereotypes that homelessness is overwhelmingly caused by substance use – which actually accounts for less than 10% of homelessness locally.

*If you are a landlord and would like to partner with the Houston Rapid Rehousing team please contact us by email or telephone to learn more about landlord incentives and how you can assist us with housing our vulnerable populations.

Emergency Shelter for Women and Families

Access to The Way Home programs are coordinated through The Way Home’s Coordinated Entry (CE) system, the region’s standardized process for connecting people experiencing homelessness to available housing and support services. Coordinated Entry helps ensure that individuals and families are assessed consistently and referred to resources based on their needs and eligibility. People can begin the Coordinated Entry process by connecting with a homeless service provider or outreach team within The Way Home network. When appropriate, a standardized assessment may be completed to help identify housing and service options.

Please note that housing and services are not guaranteed. Program placement depends on individual circumstances, eligibility requirements, program availability, and geographic location.

To get started, individuals and families should connect with a local homeless service provider. A list of providers and access options is available through
Help Card.
