We strive to provide a helping hand to improve the lives of every client, every time, in every community we serve.
We believe every person has an opportunity to make a difference. What matters is what we choose to do with that opportunity. Endeavors was founded in the basement of a church, without a grant, a contract, or even a donation in the offering plate. What we did have was a belief: that we are called to care for others the way we would want to be cared for ourselves. That belief continues to guide us today. As a faith-driven but non-proselytizing organization, we are committed to serving people with compassion, dignity, and respect, every day and in every community we serve. We work alongside local and regional partners to strengthen communities and deliver meaningful support where it is needed most. We are blessed to do this work, and we strive to care for every client the way we would want our own families to be cared for.
Our mission started over half a century ago with a vision of preventing homelessness in San Antonio. Over the years, our services and footprint have expanded, and today Endeavors provides diverse services both in-person and virtually to
veterans, first responders, military families, people experiencing homelessness, people with disabilities, disaster survivors, and children and families.
Our reach and services have expanded over the decades, but our purpose remains the same: helping people overcome challenges and build stronger futures.

Endeavors does not engage in or support proselytizing. Endeavors will not enter into or maintain relationships that are conditioned—either explicitly or implicitly—on the expectation that the individuals we serve adopt, follow, or convert to a particular religion. Likewise, while providing services, Endeavors does not permit or endorse messaging intended to persuade those we serve to convert to or embrace any specific faith tradition.

Founded more than 55 years ago by a group of San Antonians serving their unhoused neighbors from the basement of a church, Endeavors has grown from a local grassroots effort into a national nonprofit serving communities across the continental United States, Hawaiʻi, and Puerto Rico. Today, Endeavors operates a range of programs to provide free housing assistance, behavioral health services, employment support, disaster recovery assistance, and more.
