OUR STORY
With roots dating back to 1969, Endeavors’ story began with a group of churches who banded together with a common goal of serving San Antonio’s inner-city communities.
Originally called, “Urban Ministries,” the emerging nonprofit aimed to assist in meeting a variety of needs within the local community. Expanding in scope, reach, and geography over the years, Urban Ministries evolved to become the national non-profit company now known as Endeavors. As an innovative and comprehensive nonprofit, Endeavors continues to serve as a model within an evolving behavioral health and social service landscape, passionately serving vulnerable people in crisis across the nation.
Stability, Success, and Self-Sufficiency: Will’s Story
Established in 1977, Endeavors®’ Housing Program provides permanent supportive housing to female veterans, as well as individuals and families with mental illness and/or disabilities.
As Endeavors’ longest-running initiative, this program has helped shape the story of countless people who, through the program, have achieved a life full of stability, successes, and self-sufficiency. Will’s story is just one of those stories.
