John Sanders
A proven technologist, entrepreneur, business leader, and federal executive, Board Chair John Sanders is currently the CEO of Luke, a provider of healthcare and professional services that focuses on delivering quality care to those who protect and serve our nation.
Throughout his career, John has led efforts that support well-being and safety. His passion for national security led him to public service when he twice answered the call to join the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS), first under President Obama and then under President Trump. While at DHS, John served as the Chief Technology Officer for the Transportation Security Administration, where he was a key member of the team that established and implemented TSA PreCheck. He also served as Chief Operating Officer and Acting Commissioner for U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP), where he oversaw 60,000 employees, managed a budget of nearly $15 billion, and ensured the effective operations of CBP’s mission to protect national security while promoting economic prosperity.
John has served as a board member for multiple public and private companies, as well as a university trustee. He is the founder of the Blue Iris Fund, a partnership with Glasswing International to help children and families affected by migration, poverty, and violence.
