Illinois Severe Storm and Flooding

In July of 2022, a series of severe thunderstorms rolled through southern Illinois, leaving homes in shambles and families devastated.

More than eleven inches of rain fell in eight hours, causing flooding across interstates and residential areas throughout St. Clair County. Emergency responders were deployed in multiple water rescues as residents were caught up in the floodwaters.

After the storm settled, newspapers reported more than 700 homes damaged.

The President of the United States declared the storm a major disaster, and federal assistance was approved for communities impacted. As a longstanding leader in disaster recovery, Endeavors is proud to deploy a team of experts to St. Clair to help residents put this disaster behind them.

HELPING ILLINOISANS REBUILD THEIR HOMES & THEIR LIVES

Endeavors’ Disaster Relief and Recovery (DRR) services connect emergency or disaster victims to services and funding they may not be aware of, helping them recover after an emergency or disaster situation. From operating safety shelters and facilitating evacuation efforts to providing home repairs, new furniture, and clothing, Endeavors’ Case Managers work ceaselessly to help in any way we can.

The DCMP offers survivors a centralized point of contact to assist in defining and implementing a recovery plan. While the program does not provide direct financial assistance and services, your Disaster Case Manager will connect you with local resources to guide you through the recovery process every step of the way. You will be assigned a personal Case Manager to develop a customized recovery plan, assist you with FEMA, SBA, or insurance applications and appeals, and coordinate with local resources to get you the resources and help you need to recover.
